My earliest memory of the Western Bay of Plenty was holidaying as a small child at a seaside settlement a little north of Tauranga.  I was struck by the verdancy, the luxuriant growth, the rich greens of the environment, the plentiful fruit – forming carpets of  yellow, orange, red under the trees; the warmth, the sweet smells of summer flowers, and all that sea! I remember the jagged skyline formed by the magnificent Kaimai Mamaku. 

I knew I would return some day.  I have - and Bevan and I feel settled and supremely lucky to be part of this wonderful environment, ideal for trekking 

    So, come and experience another beautiful area of N.Z for a day or 3 !
